Are you the one for the job?
An ideal person for this position would work full time from our Novi Sad office on a brand new Ikea desk + chair, and a 27-inch iMac in front of them.
Depending on the circumstances — and realising that limiting our choices to local talent is silly — we are willing to open up this position to a telecommuter, and/or a part–timer. Our main concern is getting the right person on board.
We're looking for someone who is able to excel at the following requirements.
Self management.
You need to be able to handle the responsibility of the tasks you are assigned, no one will be pulling your shirt and reminding you of what needs to be done.
Interface design.
Surprise, surprise, you will be designing websites! You need to be really good at it. Marketing sites, landing pages, newsletters, web apps, all of it.
Communication skills.
Being able to articulate your actions is a must. All of us need to be aware of who's working on what at any given moment, customers need to get a clear presentation of your work, etc. Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English is understood.
HTML and CSS.
All of us write our own markup, you will be required to as well. Any extra technical knowledge is a major plus.
Extras. The more, the better.
Here's a list of things that are always handy to us:
- CMS integration (we love Textpattern, but if you're a Tumblr, WordPress, or an ExpressionEngine guy or girl that'll work too),
- JavaScript and jQuery,
- PHP/RoR/Python,
- familiarity with Git,
- good writing skills (as in prose),
- copywriting and microcopy.
If you have any other skills, please do tell!
