Have you ever gone to the party wearing the smartest outfit in your closet and discovered that everyone was casually dressed? Or have you ever shown up at a party a day earlier (or a week as it happened in our case) just to discover that the date was wrong? Well, these things do happen when the changes are not introduced to everyone and you end up being semi-informed or having no information at all.
Changes are a necessary part in the engineering industry and one of the top most important things to be managed as to avoid wasting time, budget and resources. A new ECM feature helps you maintain order during the flurry of activities and changes in the entire product lifecycle.
What ECM (Engineering Change Management) does is that it identifies and addresses product changes and then implements them while keeping all the participants/stakeholders in the loop and keeping a record of the product’s changes. What is more, there are no miscommunications as everyone gets informed. ECM’s got your back!
It was sort of a challenge for us to create a design for such a complex system and actually create a clean, easy-to-use, intuitive, user-friendly interface. We reduced the complexity of the system in such a way to help the users use the system more effectively and be happier while using it.
As a jazz musician Charles Mingus said, “Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, that’s creativity.”
Of course, we’d like to give a shout out to the amazing Aligni development team that does the really heavy lifting behind the scenes. And if this engineering change management thing is your cup of tea, you can visit the original announcement and the official feature documentation.
